And on Monday as planned for 2013 or Sunday for 2005 (missed it was stuck in Leeds after Cardiff on the Sunday of all places?!) Train from London 9am Sunday just in case

It's disappointing that the council can't have this sorted well before the event. Just a provisional date and some basic arrangements before fans need to make travel arrangements. We've had to book the 9am train home on Sunday morning incase we win and the reception is on the Sunday. It's a day we would usually spend in the capital as we go every year. A bit of forward planning by the council wouldn't hurt and we would have been able to plan with some certainty.
"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the (Dark) Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."

But how early do you decide and let people know? People were booking tickets, hotels, trains the night of the semi final win

We booked our hotel last September and Sausagefingers sorted our tickets earlier in the year because we go every year. There are no other significant event on that weekend that would interfere as far as I know. So how difficult would it be to say at the beginning of the season that should either team win then the reception would be on this date. The same would apply to the Grand Final.

Guildhall ??
As for the Council getting its act together perhaps it's had it together for some time, the required permissions road closures etc take two weeks to process anyway. Perhaps too the Club didn't want to announce any details about this or the seeing off of the players etc until after the important 'quarter final' game last night to keep the players focus firmly on winning that. I'm sure there will be an announcement in good time and we'll all have plenty of time to get home...believe me.
