Yeah and another where he ran it on the last tackle and it came to nothing. We had a few chances to snatch it last night when it was 26-22 and he seemingly blew most of them.

My thoughts are probably not much different to most people's. I thought Cas were by far the better side, faster and sharper than us. Our creativity was as bad as ever, but somehow, largely due to individual efforts from Bateman or Williams, and perhaps also Cas flagging a little as they did against Hull, we still managed to get ourselves into a position where we could snatch it.

I had zero confidence we would do so, and so it proved.

Gells? Well, apart from letting in two (was it?) tries, he did OK. Honestly, I felt sorry for him. He's no winger, and up against Solomona...

Faz looked OK, but not back to his best, of course.

Cheers for that. It was the kind of game we were winning earlier in the season, getting back into it towards the end, so it's a bit worrying that we're struggling to do that at the moment.

Thought Sam was overly petulant last night. Sometimes wish he would just get on with the game rather than whinge constantly at the ref. At one point he literally had to be dragged away by Smith.

He's like a petulant teenager - thinks he is always right and doesn't like it when things don't go his way.
It appeared that Tomkins was stripped of the captaincy during the second half yesterday and Matty Smith took over. It was a sensible decision, I think Tomkins could spending some time in the bin had he continued to behave as he was doing towards the referee. He was also lucky not to be binned for a shove on Luke Dorn when the referee was talking to them as Gale lined up a conversion. Thankfully, Dorn just laughed at him.

To me he also looks frustrated with his rugby. He is nowhere near the player he was now he has lost the pace that used to terrify defenders. That can't be easy to deal with at a relatively young age.

Tomkins has always been that way it makes him the great player that he is,other players have been that way in the past great players at that

But he's nowhere near a great player now. He's lost his pace and with it the fear he put into defenders.
He used to be a petulant but magnificent player.
He's now a very petulant average player.

Nobody comes back from major knee surgery like Tomkins has had without it taking something out of you,if you were to take more notice of what Shaun Wane has said in the last couple of weeks you would know Tomkins is playing with a knock,also Tomkins is much bigger now after 2 years in the NRL which will improve his defence,once 100 percent fit(after a full pre-season) we will see the best of him
