Haven't watched the match back yet so that opinion may change.
Although I thought he was Wigoon's MOM, he will probably get demoted now, for failing his instructions to get them their win. All that hard work from red hall to get them a near full squad was for nothing in the end

Bang on. And in nearly the next set the same thing happens when e have the ball and it's play on.

I was watching a recording of the game, because my good wife isn't a rugby fan, so It is very rare I view live stuff on TV. This however gives me the chance to bin it if it is rubbish.
I was on the point of binning this game because of Thaler. He was spoiling the game. At 6-2 to Wigan and nearing halftime, I was scratching my head as to how a side so much on top was losing and how they could possible win should this blinkered refing continue.
So I thought sod this and looked at the result on my phone, had Wigan won I would have binned it. Fortunately Hull had won, so I carried on watching, thinking that I could stop shouting at the TV and relax.
The clown still had me shouting at him in the second half.
Cards on table, I dislike Wigan so am biassed, BUT, it struck me that any bit of messing about by Hull was quickly seized on and Wigan just did similar stuff ALL game and suffered little.
I don't subscribe to the idea that refs are bent, but I do think some can be hoodwinked relatively easily or influenced.
Wigan have turned messing about in the tackle and play the ball into an art form and refs are too soft on them.
War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

You're bang on with your last line and it's spoiling the game as a spectacle as every team has to try it to be competitive.

When you do watch it back, it gets even worse.
Sam Tomkins persistent questioning of referees is 'bringing the game into disrepute' but not one of them has the boll0cks to sort it out.
Poor refereeing performance for me. We knew they would slow the ruck down which they did but everytime we got up they interfered without punishment. When they play the ball they continually move off the mark and interfere with our marker. All our dropped ball went forward none of theirs did. shameful Mr Thaler just glad we defied the odds and beat the pies with all that help too.
