I can see a few players missing on Thursday. Have a sneaking feeling the club are targeting the challenge cup, so can't see them risking anyone , even those with slight knocks. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if we don't win a game until the semi. Not being negative, just a feeling I have.

I said before the hudds game we could win or lose all of the last 4 and it's looking like the latter. I do believe they need a rethink on recruitment for next season as tuimavave isn't good enough IMO for a half at a club who genuinely want to win things and he's completely injury prone. We deseprately need some direction from the halfs. I don't think sneyd will ever be a scum half who creates lots of tries other than from kicks and we need someone who does.
Sneyd had a good game on Friday (excellent 40/20). He looked to be struggling near the end though with his hamstring. Big miss on Thursday if he has a problem with it.
Think Carlos has all the skills, but it's hard to judge him as he hasn't had an extended run at stand off. I wouldn't be averse to signing an NRL half, but I suppose it depends on the Connor situation. Hope we get that sorted sooner rather than later. Sneyd has only really come into his own this year. He was patchy last year, so it shows what an extended run can do. He does need help though.

I agree. I like Michaels, but if it was a choice between him and a Godinet type player, I think the squad needs cover for half/hooker more.
Bizarrely enough, michaels is probably our 2nd best overseas/non fed player behind mini on performances this year so is unlucky to be not getting another contract IMO. I'd much rather him in the team than fonua
Certainly there are grounds for concern about Tuimavave's injury record. Is it three this season already? I'd like him in the centres where he showed real promise early on the season and as cover for stand off.

That's true. You'd pick him before Fonua at the moment for sure. I'd put him back on the wing and Michaels to centre.
I think Fonua has the potential to be a very good player. He's still fairly young and some overseas players with more experience struggle to adapt to Super League in their first season. Hopefully we shall see a big improvement next season whether it be on the wing or in the centre.
