Looked marginally better watching it back. Terrific drop goal from Sneyd, but all about the robust defence. Tied up the likes of Atkins and Gidley really well I thought.

And sandow completely ineffective for most of the game

In an earlier post, I asked a question about Mark Sneyd's comment regards "the new ball" being the problem with handling and mistakes against Wire. Apparently, the balls used now have a protective film which needs to be scrubbed off before use, this did not take place, making the balls greasy/slippery when wet?????

.... are you saying that the protective film was not removed, or questioning whether it might not have been removed?

I was told, heresay I know, that the protective film had not been removed?????

Cheers, it would certainly explain why both teams handling was so poor.
