I mean obviously you can with how you are playing! But do you think you will have a decent chance? I only say this because except the usual suspects of Leeds Saints (both who probably wont be in the playoffs) and Wigan, most teams seem to bottle it around playoff time and take a few years of playoffs to gain the confidence to get the GF That is why I still have a horrible feeling that wigan will turn in on when it matters In fairness though Ellis and Pryce have won titles before, (as have some of your aussies I believe?) so you might be able to deal with pressure quite well
Will we? Not sure. Eighth to Champions is some leap in one season. As you say, experience counts for much come the play offs. There are a lot of twists and turns to come, we have been very fortunate with fitness (although partly down to better conditioning). Last night was the first time in seventeen games that one of Taylor/Houghton/Watts missed a game. Sneyd is another ever present.
Ater the mediocrity of the last nine years or so most of us are enjoying the ride and competing at the top end of the table rather than scraping to make the top eight.
It'd be tough to win at the first attempt but we have a talented team with a great spirit so I wouldn't bet against us. If our key players are fit for the play offs and we keep playing with this level of confidence then we have a great chance.
The cup will give us an insight into how we handle big games. Tough match against Cats and then a big semifinal will show if we are pretenders or not.
I don't see us "bottling it," there are plenty in the team that have been there and done that at every level of the game. If we fall short it will either be because someone else plays some great rugby and beats us to it, or because injuries derail us. We shouldn't fear anyone, and we certainly can win it, but any number of things could happen over the coming months.
Best chance we'll have imo, leeds hudds out of it, st helens not looking much. Us, warr, and cats will never have a better chance. No way the teams ive mentioned will all be as bad in the same season again
I think last night we saw the difference when missing Watts. if we can keep our more important players injury free this team is capable of beating any SL team in any competition.
