If there is a wage structure, then it has to be adhered to, otherwise it would be a couple of grand to one player, and then someone else would want it, and so on and so on. I have no idea what they're being paid, but if he's been offered more by Rovers, then good luck to him. As has been said, we can'tkeep them all.
Except on this occasion we've asked the kid to take a pay cut. I'd agree if we hadn't already been paying him more but we have and offering him less must feel like a kick in the balls. Personally, I think he has a good chance of making the grade and would have been worth having around

Nobody knows what's gone on as far as contracts go apart from those involved. Clearly as others have said we can't keep them all. Am sure if we had kept him.and let another go there would be some in uproar over them.

Once again we have McRae to thank for this, he gave Dean and HTW silly contracts, twice as much as the likes of Fash, Abdul etc, this is why Dean is leaving and HTW hasn't signed yet. He hasn't even played first team yet and he got his current deal it could have caused big unrest with the other young players. As it stands it's the right decision.

Watching Abdull playing for Fev now I can't see him making the grade
