Take the black and white specs of for a while and re watch it. Better team won in the end by a score that reflected the game but to say silverwood kept us in it is laughable.

Thought he did OK, missed a couple of things for both sides, some fans just love to moan about the ref.

By the letter of the law, its a red card. It's an very dangerous tackle. There was nothing else even close to it in the rest of the Magic weekend. However, in the reality of the situation, I didn't think it was deliberate and more careless as a result of body position, so while very dangerous I was happy with the yellow.

Well, if Lunt hadn't have been on the field, you wouldn't have had a chance. By the letter of the law, that tackle is a red.

He should have sent Lunt off for the spear tackle. Taylor was never a penalty and he failed to penalise an identical incident involving a Rovers player. His control of the ruck was terrible - some of the slowest PTBs of the weekend. And that's just off the top of my head. On the plus side I thought he handled the punch-up well.

Not the worst performance by a ref but hardly what I'd describe as a good one. But then some people just want to avoid criticising bad performances by officials so that they can sit on a high horse I guess.

I was happy with the yellow card, could of been worst, could of put him on report, at least the ref made a decision. And imo, got it right, taylor penalty was a harsh

Indeed. Overall he did OK at best from my impression at the game. Lunt should have been red and that was a poor and weak decision. It surprised me how there wasn't more done about Allgood's contact with the ref or, despite being captain, the constant whingeing by Campese. While we're on the subject of Terry I've not seen it back yet - did he hit Shaul while someone was holding Shaul as someone else mentioned ?

Apperently the Rovers forum (secret one) has a thread on how Scott Taylor is a dirty grub for tackling a player who was falling around the head and he should be banned.

If you watch it again I'd say completely the opposite, Lunt knew exactly what he was doing and after trying it initially and failing to get Watts up and turned, he readjusted his grip and position on Watts and then attempted it a 2nd time. So for me that shows definite intent as there was no other momentum or player involvement to act as a fulcrum in the tackle as you normally see. It was a clear red card offence and Silverwood bottled the decision. These tackles are cowardly and one of the most dangerous and rightly have been outlawed in the game and the penalty should be severe.

I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!
