I think the issue is we didn't blow them away like some (not me!) expected.
The issue was that for a large chunk of the game we couldn't hold onto the ball or stop giving penalties away.

We were ok for 15 mins then had a good chunk of the game off. It was flat on the pitch and in the stand. When we put our mind to it we scored some great tries.

Not the best game as some have posted but not every week will any team play to their best, we are currently the best team in SL, form & the league standings state this, each week at a time is what matters keep gaining momentum & 2 points.

I'm thinking of the moment near the end where we pushed one of their players into touch (I know that is vague but cant remember which one of them it was). Ours players were celebrating like they had scored a try. When Gaz was on the floor they were all immediately over to him to see if he was okay. That bonding and brotherhood that they have is something that cant be manufactured. It is the mood in the dressing room and the time they spend together off the field that does that and in the end shows they genuinely like playing together and like each other in general. Great to see!

Rovers tried to make the game scrappy and slow it down when possible and we fell into there game plan at times by giving away to many penalties. Feared the worst in the second half , any other season we'd have lost today . Shows how far we've come on , as were saying that after most games now . Not the best performance but did enough to win comfortably in the end . Massive game Saturday now , win and we move 6 points clear of saints in 5th !
Yet again, we grab a game back that was slipping away. Shows the heart in the team. The bonus is we deprive the Dobbins of two points as well. Glad it's over.

If we play poorly for long periods but still carve out a win then we are on our way to losing the 'nearly men' tag. I can live with that. Finally getting a winning mentality and can close games out.
Think the game could have been more comfortable for us if we had a Thompson, Green or Hadley on the bench instead of Washy/Carlos. Wasn't enough impetus at times when we had our big forwards off the field. Washy has been very solid for us this season but him and Carlos on the bench means that we lack a strong running second-row/prop interchange.

I agree. Think covering Sneyd with Carlos (even though he came on and turned the game) cost us some size off the bench. Think this helped Rovers stay in the game as we lost momentum at times.
