Briscoe, at his time of leaving was one of the top 3 wingers in Super League (Hall and Charnley being the other 2). Having been at Hull for 6 seasons, we'd been in 2 losing CC finals and a best finish of 6th in SL. He came to the end of his contract and was free to leave. Its not like he was holding the club to ransom (ala Schofield) or walked out on us (ala Cooke).
If Hull had a poor season, any player could in theory say they didnt fancy it any more.
