That said, I personally love the build up to a derby and I have been around the block too long to take anything for granted.
as a matter of interest which derbies have you felt confident on?
Off the top of my head when Radford came out of retirement and last season when Pryce and Ellis went off early

If it's a close game, we're doing something wrong. They're playing patched up, have had less time to recover, have a second row playing at 6 and we're at full strength. We need to send out a huge message on Sunday but putting them to the sword.
Watch the terrible Widnes defence in the highlights of their last game. Even a one-legged Campese could have scored.

On paper its a no contest, but I'm always a bit wary of which teams will turn up when it comes to derbies. You would think that the only way we can lose is if we turn up complacent. However, we will know that we were lucky to win the last one and that we wont get away with it a second time if we play that badly again. Throw in the sense of occasion that the Magic Weekend brings, and the fact that we have a lot of Hull lads, we should be turning up ready to do a job.
It would be nice to rack up big points and be able to wrap some key players in cotton wool towards the end, but I'd settle for any win tbh.

OT how long did Widnes have 14 players on against us? No wonder they hammered us! Also according to lugs saints will not play us on the Sunday, as it will leave them a day short for turnaround the week after.

77th minute I read but thought it can't be true as it hasn't been mentioned on here . If true they should lose 2 points like Salford did
