Its no Big Lebowski, but it's a nicely put together and enjoyable film. Some of the jokes fall a bit flat or are just plain wierd, but there's plenty of laughs there too, the singing cowboy character is great, and some of the scenes from the movies being made at the studios are gold. I don't think it will go down as one of the Coen brothers best, but it's a nice little film, well worth a look.
Batman vs Superman - I never liked Superman as a kid and I still don't; he's just too super, so any sense of threat or jeopardy is missing. That said, this is competently made, and Ben Affleck is more likeable than Christian Bale as Wayne/Batman. It misses the Frank Miller 'Dark Knight' tone by quite a margin though and in the end, just feels like a set-up for the Justice League movies that are to follow. On that note, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman - hot enough to earn it an extra mark. 7/10
Steve Jobs - typically zingy dialogue from Aaron Sorkin and fantastic performances, especially from Michael Fassbender in the titular role, and Kate Winslet as the Marketing Exec who could actually stand up to Jobs; but the total lack of verisimilitude lets it down. According to this piece, all of the important events in Jobs' life took place in the 10 minutes preceding a product launch and some of those events have either been subject to a bending of space and time, or totally made up. Notably, Steve Wozniak has been reduced to a series of cameos, in which he begs Jobs for public recognition - hardly fitting, given his stature. As a piece of fiction, 8/10; as a Jobs bio-pic, 5/10.
I really enjoyed Batman vs Superman They did a really good job of explaining Bruce Wayne's dislike/hatred of Superman and built up the eventual confrontation really well. However I felt the actual confrontation was rushed and lacked a wow factor to set it off.
The rest of the movie, the introduction of Wonder Woman was also rushed although the way she joins the fight is pretty cool!
The Doomsday storyline should be epic and surely is a standalone movie but they shoehorn it into a 15 minute spell at the backend of this one which is very disappointing to a DC comic purist like myself. Why script writers feel the need to mess with the original story as written in "The Death of Superman" and "Hunters Prey" I do not know! The CGI of Doomsday is very dated too with the epic monster reduced to something similar to a Harry Potter like troll, lurking in the toilets at Hogwarts.
The introductions to Aquaman, Flash & Cyborg is also mishandled and just comes over as DC racing to catch up with Marvel instead of having the confidence to slow burn it like Marvel did.
I hope the subsequent movies featuring Aquaman, Flash, Wonder Woman and Cyborg are better handled by the writers and Directors because this opportunity to launch DC deserves to be legendary which Batman Vs Superman, despite being good, isn't!

Great book. Great film
The book is really incredible and I thought the film was a decent adaption.

Atari: Game Over - if you're of a certain age and games like Yar's Revenge and Missile Command consumed your waking hours, this is a gem. An hour long documentary on Netflix, made by Zak Penn (various X-Men movies) that centres on the 'worst video game ever made' - ET - and the supposed burial of a million cartridges in a New Mexico landfill site. It's actually much broader and looks at the rise and fall of Atari - the first silicon valley tech boom company - and the movers and shakers who made it happen.
Made with affection and starring a stellar cast of geeks and gamers, it was well worth an hour of my time - loved it. 8/10
