4 year deal and a lot of money for a kid who's only done it for 1 season in the 19's. Typical Rovers, they've paid him the ex-FC premium.

Merger or no merger, Dean could/would have gone to Rovers. The Hull Academy setup makes no difference.
Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?

If we win tonight we go above his ex-club. He could quite easily make the top four play offs.
If Dean wants to play for Rovers u23 team then fair play to him.

What the merged academy does do, and I'm not talking about Dean specifically, is allow another SL club very close contact with our juniors. A SL headed by a chairman severely lacking in morality, a hatred for Hull FC and desperation stemming from the lack of youngsters at his own club. I hope the plug is pulled on this sham of a merger, the sooner the better.

Can't blame him. 35 grand a year and first team rugby are probably what we're not in a position to offer.

Maybe he wants to play Nrl and saw how a cross city switch worked for Josh Hodgsons career? Just a thought...

A merged academy is still a bollox idea though.
