Looks like congratulations are in order to Radders on extending his contract. Adam speaks in glowing terms about the hard work already done and the work still to do in tonight's programme notes. I think we need to back Radders all the way now as he is going nowhere and, as things are looking better than they have for quite a while, throw our support behind him and the team because, with the squad he, Motu & Adam have all put together they build towards a successful future. Pleased to see him signing the contract extension. On the basis of this year so far, he's earned it. The improvements each week in the second half are quite surprising, we've only lost two second halves all year (against Cas and Widnes), and it's great to see him, and the players, turning games on their heads with the analysis at half time.
Anyone seen Knockers Bump this morning?

3 years is too long, we've won nothing. I'd have waited until we made a CC quarter final and were cemented in the top four. But, on the other hand, who would replace him if he went.
Too early to extend his deal and this contract is too long in my opinion.
We're having a good run, the rugby is undoubtedly the best it's been for a few years, and he has done a good job sorting out the discipline...but this doesn't completely gloss over the last two poor seasons, and he is yet to deliver in games where the pressure is really on such as cup games and the Super8s.
Three years seems a long deal but it's hard to deny that he deserves a new deal.
Results have gone well this season so far, we have the strongest squad we've had for a decade, the players seem to genuinely like and respect him and he has brought in what appears to be a great team spirit.

Maybe Pearson didn't want to risk someone else coming in and tapping him up? There are 4 clubs who will be on the verge of getting rid of the coach if things don't improve: Leeds, Huddersfield, Hull KR (at the end of the year) and Salford (because it's Marwan, and he does what he wants). There's only a relatively small pool if coaches with first team super league coaching experience, and we've got one of them.
With Green, Bowden and Hadley all signing until 2019, I think it makes sense to do the same for the coach they've signed for.

But how long do you wait? Another week to see if we get knocked out of the Cup? Even then we're still top four in the league. Another two months to see if we drop to sixth? Sack him at the end of the season and then try to bring a top coach in four weeks before pre season training?

On his appointment, Pearson said Radfords first job was to sift out the dead wood and bring a professional culture to the club. This was always going to happen in the background. Pearson has maintained this stance and repeatedly stated Radford was doing a great job behind the scenes. We are now seeing the fruits of this on the pitch.
The contract extension is deserved. 2 years would have been better, but long term stability at any sporting club cannot be underestimated.
