We are seriously looking at Rovers being relegated, I know that that would give you all a tremendous buzz in the short term, but that would also end the one true derby in rugby league and that feeling of walking into work to face your other work colleagues who are either black and white or red and white after your club has defeated the other .......I'm sure you are loving our present situation, but if we fall your life will be so much worse regarding the banter we have........And, with that in mind, you sold your history to become the Sharks .......Haha!
You're right, it is hilarious. However, it can easily turn on its head. It would be a shame to lose the derby games, but if Rovers weren't in SL we could once again have the pick of the crop in and around Hull again, which would only be a good thing for the club. I suppose it depends whether Hull FC have the desire to be a dominant force in Hull, or a dominant force in SL. I know which one I'd rather have, and if that was the case, I wouldn't miss rovers one iota.

This is what gets me with some of the peg sellers at the caravan site, they seem to think that the rivalry is the be all and end all of rugby league. Maybe they should focus on winning some competitions rather than just a couple of individual games. Of course to win competitions you've gotta beat teams like OLDHAM. While I'm at it I might as well throw in: 50-0.
Wouldn't revers be hit harder more losing the derby than we would? We survived when they were scraping around the lower reaches of the 1st and 2nd divisions a few years ago and we'll get on fine again if they go down. No tears from me, well maybe through laughing so much like this weekend

I don't recall it being too much of a ball ache for us when rovers weren't in superleague in the early to mid noughties, I seem to remember we were quite successful
When you stand back and analyse the game its a strange one indeed and hard to understand how Rovers could lose it really. Although they did have one Sub they didn't use at all even when they needed fresh legs but as for Oldham they only had 17 fit men to pick from beforehand anyway. Chisholme was injured in just about the first tackle and they had Grimshaw a half back and Gee a hooker in the centres. In fact they had three more hookers in their line up too. It must have been really hard work losing that game.

IF Rovers were to be relegated, would we be the closet geographically to Catalans? Now that what be a good Magic weekend derby! We could even play them 4 times a year?
