Because we are talking about the impact of the salary cap on RL clubs - soccer is a different game with differing types of challenges and owners. People are attracted to soccer for its prestige and status few could say they are attracted to RL for the same.
Nobody seems to know who owned Leeds utd during Risdale's tenure - some off shore trust, certainly no one of the gravitas of Caddick, Moran etc.
Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.
If one of the intentions of the salary cap is to even out the competition on the field then it appears to be working looking at the majority of Friday night's results. 2016 cellar dwellers Huddersfield and Leeds defeating the table topping Warrington and Hull.

Unfortunately a levelling down..rather than a levelling up. I don't think I have enjoyed one match I have seen this season. No intensity, no wincing at the heavy tackling, no admirable plays...boring. For the first time in many a season I have stopped watching every recorded match....and have nearly finished my Airfix 1/72 scale Vulcan
If you want to continue watching hard, fast, entertaining rugby league I can recommend a 12 month subscription to Premier Sports HD
It's every game live from the NRL and a few of their magazine progs as well. Footy Show is much poorer than I remember but Matty Johns' Monday Night show fills the mirth gap nicely. Probably watching around half the games in full at present, the beauty is you get to pick and choose.
And contrary to some of the opinion on here there are no painfully slow, non tackling half-backs and all are as quick between the ears also the rules are actually enforced around the play the ball, time clocks on scrums and drop-outs, less negative kicks going dead as they are penalised by a zero tackle, no free play just the old fashioned crossing the advantage line you play on etc. While not perfect (nothing ever is) it's night and day from the drab, down-trodden version we have in SL - turning channel is like going back in time.

Very sad to say it but this is very true!

I haven't been following much NRL so far this year but Newcastle, Parramata and Canberra(although they seem to be on the up) have taken some hidings in recent years.Probably put Gold Coast in there too.

Not true at all. Leeds United was a PLC during Ridsdales tenure so the shareholder details were publically available.
The name you seem to be avoiding here is Allan Leighton, who would generally be regarded as a successful businessman, but in cahoots with Ridsdale let all common sense disappear in an illogical, emotional financial gamble to "live the dream", making LUFC a great example of successful businessmen gone nuts.
Something that seems to have been airbrushed from his Wiki entry.

Yep, no one-sided blowouts in the NRL. Is there a category of NRLWBR, William?
Who mentioned blowouts, in a league of sixteen there will be a spread of squad strength, class and form. Two of the three you've pulled out this week feature the Broncos and the Cowboys who so far have continued their form from last season and look like the teams to beat. Every game features players I love to watch but it's also the officiating and attitude at the PTB and the innovations referenced above - the sooner they're adopted in SL the better.

One of the selling points of the NRL constantly used by those who hold it up as an example to SL is the "intensity" and the fact that "there are no easy games". Clearly not the case.
