Barthau should not have stayed on after the red card, not that it's the consideration but with the score as it was (26-8 or something I think it was) and how long he was down he should have come off, even if just a precaution. Kicking still a big problem, but some good line breaks down the middle for a change. All in all happy with the game.
"That wasn't a kick, the was a pass with his foot!" Brian Noble making Andrew Voss lose sleep
Doc went on to look at barthue, apparently no head injury and was assessed on field, cunning ham was on the touchline ready to come on under the green card. Doc was happy so must have been hendos call to keep him on. Interestingly he dropped the ball next pass he got. I actually missed the hit that floored him. The penalty count in first half was 5-2 I think, still too many and all silly. We are trying to slow the ptb down which is where we get pinged most. Am still surprised that we have not got open play kicking sorted and that we have only seen 1 40/20 on the park this year. Altho the high spiralling kick that willy put up in the first half that the batley fb dropped was a good executed kick, up into the wind spiralling and dropped in the right area ish. Let's hope we can do the same to the bulls
I think Barthau in general is kicking quite well, he was kicking when he got flattended, and i believe williams scored from it, but touch judge missed it because he was so busy flagging the late tackle. agree about the lack of 40:20's but we only seem to have Barthau kicking..............
No try was scored from that kick, he was bundled over the side before he got chance to ground the ball, ref had seen the late shot as had the touchy and both waited for the advantage before going back to the late shot. Touch judge on far side had called the late shot as well. Matt came on after the ball had been caught and play stopped
interesting that Henderson also thought it might have been a try and also that he didnt think either the touch judge or referee had ruled it out. Are you sure that it was a definite rule out?
It obviously was a Def rule out as it was not awarded and they went back to the penalty, the ref actually followed the ball and only went back after play stopped. If the try had been scored it would have been awarded and the foul play then dealt with
My point is that Henderson made the same point as me, there was'nt a decision - merely a look at late tackle? It makes no difference to the score or result, but i still felt they didnt rule - Williams would have had a hat-trick as well!
Not sure what you mean by decision, the ball was dead, no try was scored, what decision was there to make, the foul play dictated what the restart was.
