Even if e.g. Leeds or Huddersfield sacked their coaches they would want a replacement straight away and not at the end of the season. They would probably look for someone with a better track record than Radford, as could we if he left.
At the moment we have 5 wins out of 8. I think we are going OK but that could change over the next few weeks so why risk tying us to Radford for another 2-3 years?
Interesting start for Leeds. Is McDermott suddenly coaching badly after winning so much or is it because their squad has lost some key players and leaders ?

Or maybe he's not as good as the outstanding already contructed Leeds team made him seem? Like coach before who had 1 job since. Failed and is not coaching now?

I also like to see us tie us a few players that are OOC such as Bowden and Green and look to extend the likes of Shaul and Houghton.
Why soonish? He hasn't proven anything as yet, who would take him if we leave negotiations until AFTER we find out how we do toward the back end of the season? Whilst things are going great now look how things went tits up last year. Let's be honest, whilst it's great winning at the moment and beating KR, Warrington and Saints was epic we still have a long long way to go before we commit to handing out a renewal to a coach that has only taken us backward the last two seasons. Hang back and wait until the rest of the season unfurls then make a decision.
A decision needs to be made soonish as players will want to know what they're signing up to. The club will already be planning for next year and those decisions includes the coaching staff. I think LR will get another couple of years. I've been as frustrated as anyone over the last few years, but you can see the culture is changing.

Don't think many clubs let a coach's contract expire before they make a decision. Getting to September before making a call would mean, as you say, recruitment would be more difficult, plus challenges on getting a new coach in at short notice potentially. Can't believe that Pearson's not already decided, one way or another.
