I rather think Fox put some senior noses out of joint in the Leeds boardroom. Probably those that signed Bob Morris and co without his knowledge. Fox was never one to suffer fools.
Agree he was not given much coin but he often liked to get bargains or unknowns and transform them. Think the smartest one he ever did was buying Bobby Haigh when he appeared completed knackered. think he paid something ridiculous like £250 quid for him. Class player and lovely guy. Still think Fox may have found it tough by 1987.
If Leeds had got him in say 1980 agree could have been very different.
