It's a heartening scoreline and if we hadn't given away 6 points at the start and kept the dumb penalties down we would have had a chance. All in all nothing to be too down about.

Everybody chooses their off day when they play us. The Sky TV highlights show that our tries are quite good quality. They weren't given to us. We had a couple stopped on the line too.
Their tries were easy at times and we need to fix that, especially helping them down field with penalties. Some was individual effort from Gidley.

Yes PT you're not wrong! In the eyes of some fans or coaches, we either play a team giving their worst display of the season or they half their team out. Whatever the match was like it was a massive improvement on last years drubbing and the signs are there! We need to build on it and the supporters need to get behind the team!

Craig Hall played well apparently...
Yes, Craig Hall went well, especially as he was down to play centre and then ended up as emergency FB after the BJB injury. Tom Johnstone deserves some praise. Had a strong game and looked our most dangerous player with ball in hand, well played :CLAP
Glad I made journey last night, considering the 5 day turn around was a great performance from the lads.
Tom Johnstone, Craig hall , England were the pick from last night, performing well and no errors,
We still look nervous at times trying to force off loads where at times just secure ball and go to ground, defence was strong again,
We all know errors and penaltys are killing us, but silver wood was shocking, 2 poor ref performances in a row now.
Tom Johnstone was the pick, he just needs the belief to drop shoulder step off and go past the last defender, he's rapid, and gets a little nervous towards try line, but he's young raw but has big future if looked after.
Miller did better, Finns kicking frustrating at times, still needs to improve,
There backs in sandow and gidley are world class and it showed, they made 3 tries out of nothing off there own game, we need that to relieve pressure off our forwards , this was how I saw it no negativity, I thought we looked the better side in last 20 mins, cut out mistakes, improvement from halfs we have a team that will be competitive and at home in front of own fans can get some results, Cas away , wire away, good Widnes side who dished it out to Leeds, not a bad effort,
We competed last night which given where we were last season is a good step in the right direction. It was though an awful game in terms of quality with the difference being the level Warringtons halfbacks are at. They are up there with the best in the league, if not the best and will be the difference for them against better teams than us this year. Miller and Finn were better in patches, hopefully it will improve as time goes on. Finn does look like he runs in slow motion though! The referreing was ridiculously pendantic for both sides, he seemed determinded to stop the game at every opportunity, the 19 penalties and 28 errors in the game lead to very frustrating watching. Good to see Hall back in the team and playing well, if his attitude is like that for the rest of the season then he will be an asset and could maybe give us the touch of class we have been lacking in the centres when BJB is fit and at fullback.

A point of note, the penalty count was 10-9 to Wire, albeit one of ours was from the kick off. It wasn't as lop-sided as some would think. The refereeing was just dire throughout.

I noticed that his final warm-up involved running straight up and down and he had some kind of thing stuck to his leg. I'm guessing it was some kind of late fitness test and he decided there was the risk of a twinge.

I thought we played well, particularly in defence.
Not quite quick and decisive enough in attack yet, but I was quite satisfied with the performance. If people could learn to either catch the ball or stop making dumb offloads to no one, we'll do even better,
I didn't think Warrington were great, and they did look like a team who'd only played twice and then had a long break, but that isn't to take away how competent we were. A full-on definite improvement and they were rightly applauded at the end.
