I must admit I don't see how that can be your main conclusion after watching that game. Not sure pace on the wings played much of a part at all if any (maybe Hitchcox's second when a quicker man than Talanoa might have made a tackle). However I do think I prefer Naughton on the wing to Michaels.

Yeh agree , think naughton deserves a chance, nothing to do with lack of pace on tonights performance, just michaels didnt have the best off games , so naughton should get a chance

I think (and it pains me to say it, because I really like the kid) whoever plays outside of Logan is going to look worse as a defender. Too many times Logan jumped from the line tonight, opening a gap and causing pressure. Fair play to him if he makes good contact.
The thing is, people have called for to work with yeaman on his defense, and it looks like its something which could be good in the future. Just seems he misjudged it a bit tonight.

This season is going to be a learning experience for Logan. Teams will rightly target him. Some weeks he'll get it right and others he won't.

Exactly. It'll only be good for him in the long term though. Just a shame we didn't really see much of him in attack tonight, so it showed up his defense a bit. Will need to watch the game back really to have a closer look.
Micheals scapegoated for Logan's inadequacies? Aside from the brain fart forward pass Micheals did little wrong, certainly wasn't at fault for the tries IMHO. The tackling overall was awful and trying to score on every set (or so it seemed) was ridiculous, build some pressure and work from there. If it wasn''t for some very strong individual performances (Houghton & Shaul spring to mind) we'd have lost by a lot more. We lost focus (far too often) which is what i feared and indeed Cas punished us, the players need to move on from the fact they played poorly and lost a golden chance to maintain the 100% record but Radford just has to nail down the mental aspect and drill it into the players that we have to be tight against good teams and be patient. It's clear we have the talent but execution in defence & attack was very poor.
I'm very dissapointed with the result and some very dubious officiating at times but it was worth the 300+ mile round trip as the game overal was good. Onwards and upwards

disappointing but cas deserved it, we made too many errors, basic errors too, gifting them at least 12 points early on
the only saving grace from this game was, even though we were poor we were a point down with two minutes to go, we still could have won it if pryce had ran at the line instead of kicking through on the 3rd, but it would have been an undeserved win
some of our senior players didnt turn up tonight imo
Far too much throwing the ball around pointlessly early in the tackle count rather than doing what worked for us in the 1st 2 games. radford bang on in his after match interview. Defence was a shambles at times I thought with far too many missed tackes and easy metres for cas and our edge defence on both sides looked likely to leak tries every time cas attacked there. Not a disaster and may do us good in the long run but we need to get back on the horse next week
