Unlucky for the Giants. Great effort given the players missing. As JTP said, Wigan are painful to watch at times. Same cut out moves time after time. Ellis had a good game for Giants.

That's the fine line between success and failure. Come the end of the season, no one will remember the effort Huddersfield put in Round 2, but Wigan will still have the two points.
You could also consider Huddersfield's last kick prior to the Wigan try. A grubbed kick may have forced a drop out and not allowed Wigan to go down the other end of the pitch and score.
Not knocking Huddersfield as they have performed far better than us in recent seasons, but just making the point that at times it's just about getting the result and that is something that Hull will need to improve on this season if we are going to convert last season's narrow defeats into this season's victories.

Good performance by Huddersfield, probably should have won. A lot of penalties and errors it seemed, especially knock ons and handling mistakes but ultimately two very entertaining performances.

I was baffled by the kick to the corner at the end. A little dink into the in goal area would probably have given the ball back to the Giants, and with it the chance to close the game out. Ended up costing them the game.

Game Management is ultimately what makes the difference. With Hull, I'm hoping that this season we've now got a squad that can compete more consistantly. It will be how we'd cope with moments like tonight that determines whether we break the Top 6, Top 4 or better.
Your earlier comment made me think about snooker in the 1980's. Alex Higgins and Jimmy White were the entertainers, but it was normally Steve Davis with his consistent, no thrills skill that ensured he made the right decisions more often and he rarely had to force the play to win the match.

Ellis admitted he had erred in his post match interview saying he should have rolled it into the goal area as he had done a few minutes earlier.
The 20 restart gave Wigan the impetus needed to rescue the game.
