Just for the record, I think B Thaler is the best ref in the business, however, some of his decisions were inconsistent during the game on Sunday, i.e forward passes and high tackles. But I'm sure you'll disagree.
If opposition fans have a problem with, as you say a minority, being arrogant and so called boasting........So what. Let them think what they like. My take is Leythers are just expressing their passion for the club.
Collectively, It's a combination of showing passion for the club,a bit of banter, tongue in cheek, winding folk up and so on. I just think some folk are perceiving our views for our club wrongly.
And now Iv'e managed to write all this...................................I need a drink.
For once, I'm in total agreement with you there Cokey. I need one too!!

They always back a Yorky side against a Lancashire side cos it's in their blood.
They also don't like us outnumbering them ie their fans at our away games despite the fact this actually helps their clubs.
They are also jealous of how good humoured and friendly we are and the fact we are all better looking And despite that we never mention it.
Personally, I can identify readily with those sentiments Frank. Surely, even our good riends from the 'fax message board can't argue about your stated attributes?

There were plenty of your fans midway through last season dishing it out (things such as WHEN we're in super league next year i.e 2016 we won't have to visit these terrible clubs etc) which is why I would assume most people took great delight in your Qualifiers burn out.
Signing the type of players people love to hate like Hock will have contributed as well.
I personally have nothing against you leythers, we always have belting games (even if we've fallen narrowly short in the league meetings over the last few seasons) and every leigh fan I've met in person have been knowledgeable about the game and easy to warm to. Take it on the chin and keep a stiff upper lip (easier said than done I would say)
Well the key here is you guys and Bradfurt for that matter are dwelling too much on last season and what happened in the middle 8s. If you want to get excited about that, then that's your problem.
I can honestly say you have took too many post too seriously or you've perceived them wrong.
Maybe you need to have a word with Mr Jagger, He's never serious.

Us cas fans are just so jealous of your ability to win a competition where most players are part-time and then collapse when playing a sequence of games against decent teams. We would much rather have had this than a Wembley appearance and a finish of 4th and 5th in super league. I imagine the Yorkshire based Leeds rhinos fans feel the same way after winning everything last year. The reason Leigh are disliked is that the club seems to think it is better than it actually is.
Sorry, this wasn't really aimed at clubs who lived in the SL Ivory Towers. Until the slim chance of P&R returned none of you gave a stuff about the championship. Hope Cas aren't looking nervously over their shoulder this season as I like the way Powell has you playing. I also wish we had Dorn and Gale.
2015 - major missed opportunity, 2016 - stronger teams = harder task (no problem there then), 2017 - OMG What now!!!

Don't worry, I've a thick enough skin to take it

]In all honesty, it's the attitude of 'we will be in super league', 'we deserve super league'. This attitude is evident at all levels from fan to director. It rubs people up the wrong way. A little bit of humility goes a long way. This attitude has meant that Leigh are the only underdog that nobody wants to back in a game.[/quote]
I agree with your post for the most part there bentleberry, especially the "little bit of humility goes a long way" statement.
I for one have always avoided the we will be promoted, we are invicible etc types of claims, purely because you fall on your own sword if your Club then fails to achieve.
A little perspective though, I have spoken to many fans, including Wigan & Salford who have said they would LOVE Leigh to be back in Super League, some officials of other SL Clubs have also made similar comments.
Why do they want Leigh in Super League ? What is the benefit ? Take 2 of the friendlies from last weekend, Leigh v Wigan - attendance 4614 or Widnes v Halifax - attendance 1396. That is a difference of 3208 & almost 4x bigger crowd at Championship Leigh over SL Widnes. Factor in also that Wigan's away following was a laughable 400 > 500 at a stretch & you can see that Leigh will bring increased revenue to all Super League Clubs with a very strong travelling number in Championship, this would almost certainly increase in SL. Then there is The NOISE, take 10, 000 Wigan fans in the DW * or the 400 that came to Leigh * & you would be forgiven for thinking they were in a Library. Take 1500 or 2000 travelling Leigh fans * 4000 @ Wire in the CCQF * & they make more din than 10,000 Wigan fans ever could. Like us or loathe us, we bring fans & plenty of them, we bring the noise & so therefore atmosphere.
Salford v Leigh in the 8's - at least as many Leigh fans as home fans. Wakefield v Leigh CC - 50 % or more Leigh fans. The team bring the flair & attractive attacking, exciting brand of RL & that is why Sky & the BBC wanted Leigh on the TV.
It has to be said that Bradford also bring much of this & Halifax are none to shabby, but Fax do not have the fan base or the brand of RL & only Bradford exceed our average gates & match our away support.
It's not about how many fans travel away and who has what. It's enjoyment of the game that always prevails. As far as I'm aware the goals and targets have to be met this season.
For that reason as Demon said, this season will be open to the failure of last season..For the faint hearted I suggest you leave "ignore on"..Or join the party, the choice is yours!
