As I said before its a matter for the courts to decide as far as players are concerned - providing their ability to fulfill their contractual obligations isn't affected then the clubs don't need to put in extra punishment.

2. If you're not old enough to drive yet, even sober, remember that being a professional RL player provides a young man with an opportunity to be a role model, but it isn't in of itself a qualification. If you have a family member, or neighbour or teacher who is polite, kind, law-abiding and has a sensible work ethic, they could be a role model - even if they've no talent for rugby.

young men, rugby and beer an ideal set that leads to ridiculous levels of bravado, egging each other on and displays of machismo. clubs that don't have strict drinking policies in place are in effect turning a blind eye to the facts that rugby players are more likely to have or be involved in drink related issues than the general populous.

Bowden is a young guy and he'll learn from this, not trying to stick up for him and for what he did really but sacking him would be stupid, maybe removing his license for more than 20 months would be better and sending him to a few meetings would be a better option.
