It is a very different place on here than it used to be. There are less interesting topics and less interesting posters than of old. Given the absence of the likes of tb, Minty, cod'ead and Gerry Chicken (or whatever his name is), et al, it makes this place a barren one. I admire them in a way, I wish I could kick this in the head, but I enjoy going on the Doncaster RLFC site and this is a convenient place to come when there is nothing doing there.
It was really enjoyable recently with our Stanley, but when that stopped it was like a wasteland on here. It is a quiet period I suppose.
Volume of traffic aside, it's a poorer place than it was.
War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

The thing is, if those people no longer wish to debate on here , there is not much which can be done. It is absolutely their choice.

With regard to Stanley, as far as I am aware, he is free to post .... he is not however, free to disrupt every thread that it suits him to. And for the record, that has been decreed by a higher power than I.

Its known as Administration (on this site). Wherever we go, someone will make the rules. There are people with much more authority than I on this site who make the rules here. I don't see it as a conspiracy.

Change is inevitable. People grow older and re-think their priorities. New technology and social trends are constantly shaping and re-shaping the landscape of communication.
As one of the two creators of this site who sketched out a rough working model on the back of a cigarette packet over a decade ago in The Oak Tree pub in Newton-le-Willows I think I'm in as good a position as any to draw conclusions.
Overall the RLFANS site continues to pull in massive amounts of traffic. I've never really bothered a great deal with statistics but I do know that we were close to overtaking Virgin Rail's website in terms of numbers three or four years ago.
I once thought Facebook would squash us flat but instead we seem to have reached a happy equilibrium. As older members leave to pursue new interests younger ones fill the holes.
As for individual forums - from the moment we first switched on traffic has waxed and waned. During the close-season especially conversation is always fairly sparse. Insofar as the Sin Bin is concerned - sure, this is a relatively quiet period. Yes, some long-term members have left. But this isn't a problem specific only to this forum. You find similar trends on any popular message board.
To those who think things were somehow "better" a few years back - I'm afraid nostalgia is clouding your judgement. Sure, there were more people posting in the Sin Bin. But don't think for one moment it was a moonbat-free zone because it certainly wasn't. Trust me. I was there.

Person with nothing to say comes on a forum bemoaning that nothing much is being said.
At least we now have an example of irony for those who struggle to understand the word.

Bit of a 'whooosh' moment there methinks
Did you get rid of all the voices in your head? Do you now miss them and the things that they said?
