If we are serious about becoming a club again, then the first thing is to attract locals and re engage ex fans...like paddock punter. Ealing has plenty of schools and businesses...... 700 usuals and 700 newbies gives us 60% of the 2K.....anything less is a failure in my opinion.
Hence the club engaging with the locals right from the start. Problem with that is it was scoffed at when it was mentioned, seems club can't do right for doing wrong. It then begs the question why just Ealing.? Look at our fan base as it is now, small yes, but look at the geographical spread, so by all means do what we are doing and engage with locals where we play, but the club have to look wider, that's why it's so difficult.
20 secondary schools and 70 junior schools.....10 free tickets to each school and you have 900 in....... 130 member companies in the Ealing chamber of commerce.....10 each and you have 1,300. The trick is getting them back.......

Somewhere for them to sit might be a good start!

Spot on - you are coming across like a toned down version of GF
So just something to think about, how long do you think Ealing trail finders ru have been in existence? Do you really think that as a club they sit in isolation from the locals of Ealing? Trail finders crowds 400 maybe 500, what makes you think all of a sudden the local populace in Ealing are all going to come rushing because it's rugby league. Yes engage with the local community, build a Base altho if by some miracle we got back into super league if you believe the nay sayers about inability to develop trail finders anymore we would have to move again. That aside, by all means get into the local schools and colleges but thinking our fan Base is going to be re built from the local area is naive The true catchment area of London Rl be it broncos or skolars should be primarily London as a whole but in reality it's an area probably from Luton south. How you market that is a challenge. Personally I think target different areas each month but that takes resources. Flyers at Olympic stadium! I would put money on most of them being in the bin and forgotten about already.
As a start tho, yep jabba you are right, but target the schools colleges that have a RL interest first. 2 weeks ago, over 120 kids played RL in one afternoon at championship schools finals, those schools were from high Wycombe, East London, leatherhead, south London.
