Can't believe you need to be so OTT to make every point. We are RL fans not Daily Sport readers, we don't need a screaming headline to get what you are saying! You and Belly and co totally undermine yourselves - I just don't get it.
Anyway taking away the nonsense and hyperbole from your post there is in my humble opinion there is as ever some truth in what you say.
Lee Smith did OK first time in an OKish team - far from world class and as you say way off his early Leeds days - but then he'd clearly still be at Leeds if that early promise wasn't already fading. Second time he was our best three quarter but then that wasn't difficult was it.
The real point is that if our sport was vibrant like in Oz and NZ and our Academies were producing the players we were promised Smith would be a bush player by now or plying his trade in France. The fact that a club like Hull FC are willing to trial him is beyond me - especially when his reputation was built on speed - a gift he clearly no longer has. There should be loads of players ahead of Smith but sadly there aren't. It's an utter disgrace that Smith and and Lyne are still considered worthwhile options even with SL's poorest teams but with a rich club like Hull, jeez we have got it wrong.
I'd play Smith even now and I do think he's slow, past it and not got much ticker - that's how bad it is. I accept most SL coaches are to spineless or mindless to give youth a go but even taking that into account there is still a dire lack of talent at that level above journeyman and below superstar.
Finally I do hope that if your lad doesn't go as well at Cas as is hoped you will take it on the chin when there fans start talking about him like you do about Smith?
