IMO, DH would be perfectly capable of spending more money on a worse team.

To make the super 8s an equal and or fair competition the rfl should allow championship teams the ability if they have the finances to spend to the same level, I think the important thing is if clubs can afford it

I can see how unfair it is for Championship teams when the face Super League teams in The Super 8s, especially when like Wakefield they load their teams up at the end of the season.
No Championship team is likely to win promotion, unless a Super League team goes bust.
This is why The Super 8s will not last more than a couple more seasons. We shall move on to some other fantastic RFL scheme .

I feel it's poor timing for this decision. Would have been better to either take this either earlier in the year or announce for 2017 introduction. It would give all clubs the opportunity to plan financially for that. Most clubs are back in pre season with their squads being defined on the basis of the Salary cap. Would some players have left certain clubs if the clubs had known this was a definite. Quite some clubs recruitment might have been different.

Don't get me wrong if a club elsewhere is generating income this gives an opportunity to compete more successfully and allows perhaps an improvement in quality in the second tier. This might address some of the imbalance for the games against SL clubs, but that is only the last eight games of the year. Pretty much reinforced the longest Pre season in sport - 23 games.

The decision and its timing highlights incompetence at the RFL.

Rules have been altered, if they can demonstrate income, they can do this. SL barely needs Leigh, they are a small town club, they are never going to deliver huge crowds - they are not hull, Leeds, Wigan or bluntly Bradford.....

leigh may be a small town club but they have always had bigger crowds than a big city club like london broncos..........
