Maybe we're not paying a massive amount as it's been offered by the country's tourist board at a knock down rate, and with the sub, travel and accommodation it's still cheaper than the UK?
I was on a week long training course many years ago and both trainers told me (independently) that it would be cheaper to run it in Benidorm (even with flights etc.) than in the UK because the travel and accommodation costs in the UK were so high

I asked a simple question, backed up my response with hard facts/plausible reasons as to why we don't need to go to a place that aside from being warmer offers nothing more than being in the UK yet could be costing the club a shed load more than staying at home. Based on the financial problems we are experiencing having a jolly abraod isn't something I would have expected of a club in crisis especially when that jolly has no credible reason or advantage over other options for happening.
Yet you say I'll be foaming at the mouth over some ludicrous statement you've concocted, add that on top of the fact you're stalking me on the forum, constantly making ascertions as to my mental health and my status at home, it's pretty clear you're the one with negative emotional problems, you really need to get some help, as I've offered, I'll happily forward on some details for you.

And have you read the responses you've had in reply? Relating the pre-season of a SL club to your own amateur club (I presume) training in the Winter isn't exactly plausible
People have rightly pointed out that it may be more expensive to have a UK based camp, due to the funding being received and the costs over here.
Plus you get a lot more out of training in decent weather.
Think about it - If it was as costly as you're making out or not advantageous to the team - why on Earth would they or other clubs do it?

Very odd Bumpy. I asserted that due to you having an axe to grind with every aspect of the club, that you were somewhat unfulfilled in your personal life and that you get a kick out of venting your negativity to online strangers. I didn't mention your mental health, but you just did.

Firstly, although you put some credible points forward regarding the question of the worth of an overseas training camp, you most definitely did not put any hard facts forward.
Also, this is the second time you have referred to this trip as a Jolly. Do you seriously think it would be treated as a holiday?
You still fail to factor in the cost contribution being offered by the Cypriot tourism board, hence reducing the financial impact.

I think Bumpy is reminiscing about a trip to Benidorm with the Rugby lads in '06 and thinks the players will be doing exactly the same.
He's trained in sub-zero temperatures between 7pm and 9pm with snow on the ground. I'm guessing this wasn't pre-season Superleague level training, but I bet it wasn't far off.

No pre season camp in Cyprus. Rejected because of the terrorism threat. Maybe the Portugal trip could have been revisited if it wasn't for the fantastic facilities currently available to the club in Hull.

Perhaps we could take advantage of the facilities at your sh*thole. We understand they're world class (or should that be 3rd world).
