Newton hill wmc - known as roundhouse went in quite often remember a certain band playing there just after the singer was done for claiming dole while earning money with the band.When he pasked if any one had requests yours truly piped up "Do you know Fiddler on the dole" the place was in fits of laughter even he managed a titter seeing the funny side. Resident DJ Mick McGinley still doing the DJ job so I'm told it closed and became Arabesque then was knocked down and the Doctors surgery buil

Mick McGinley did a spot in the Sheps Arms in Horbury the other week,had a natter with him about how he was one to blame for me meeting the misiss

Is he still going, he must be getting on a bit, remember him dj'ing round Wakey, where would he have played in the early 80's?

Mick was Managing the Lupset Hotel, made a good job of it, came out about 2014, brewery put rent up and costing's because he was doing well, this I think bankrupt him, he was living in a caravan last I heard and the his was left him. shame for Mick he was always hard working lad

i remember him dj'ing the Elephant & Castle tuesday & sunday nights,would probably be early/mid 90's if my memory serves me well. Mick Morgan used to call in now and then, used to have some good banter with both Micks.

with all these pubs closing over the years I must be mad setting up a micro brewery, well here goes, tomorrow is the start of which I hope will be a successfully locally brewed real ale that will be offered to all local pubs and clubs around the Wakefield area, our first brew is called Legend so look out for it
