Trevor Baileys team was made up of a few Trinity U17s who moved to play at Narmanton alongside a number of players who came from Half Acre Trinity. The reason for the move to Normanton was the ongoing argument between the RFL and BARLA about who should run U17s Rugby.
After forming a very very formidable team, half of the lads moved into Colts Rugby under Alan Box while the other half transferred from Narmanton to Sharlston along with Bailey and later went on tour in Australia.
The following year the two halves of that Normanton team reformed to become the most successful Youth Rugby team in Wakefields history.
So they weren't players picked from all over, in the majority they came from 2 teams, the former Wakefield Trinity U17s (albeit the U16 lads) and the Half Acre Trinity U15s.
The lads who played in that Colts team came mainly from Lupset, Eastmoor, Kettlethorpe and various parts of Cas, Not outside the District so I see no comparison to what Wigan and Leeds are doing?
However once again you're drifting the argument, this wasn't about previous Youth set ups but about the current one and whether it's good or not!
Spencer - Kettlethorpe Loxton - Normanton Wild - Cas McDermott - Lupset Heggarty - Eastmoor Green - Cas Modules - Cas Potts - Cas Conway - Normanton Craig - Lupset Stuckey - Cas McCraw - Flanshaw Kelly - Lupset
Hepworth - Cas Rollin - Kettlethorpe Pollard - Grimethorpe Pell - Cas
A few others played cameo roles but they too were all Wakefield District lads, isn't that how it should be?
You put what you want old lad, I'm telling you and I don't give a damn what you say, when it came to amatuer rugby that was my domain in wakefield I had my spats with Duncan farrar but at the end of it we were mates and like Ive said in a previous thread I don't know you and as far as I'm concerned in the 80s and 90s you were a nobody in wakefield amatuer rugby prove me wrong

If you were so big and knowledgable how come you didn't know the facts behind the formation of that Colts team.
Duncan Farrar was a nobody, nothing more than a committee admin bloke who was tolerated by those who really ran the Youth set up at Wakefield.
7 Cas lads in the team means what exactly? Cas is a part of Wakefields District and they were all long time players under Bailey at Half Acre Trinity, they were lads who supported Wakefield.
I was around Youth and Schools rugby from the mid 70s and don't know of any single person who fits the description that you attribute to yourself.
You'll know then that at time wakefield and cas were district leagues, don't have to prove owt to you mate but any lad who played rugby at top amatuer level in Yorkshire at that time went through my hands, but like I say you must have been a nobody. One thing that does amuse me is what you trying to avenge, I was a try scorer

I'm not the one making ridiculous and grandiose statements about how great and important I am. Like I said, no one fits the description you paint of yourself!
More likely that you were nothing more than a hanger on, fantasising that you were important in some way and in your advancing years you're finding it hard to seperate reality from fantasy, Billy Liar like.
As for my forum name, I've told you before I love Joanna Lumley, she's a class femme provocateur.
We get your forum name fella, no need to explain it, you once scored a try!

Your Senility kicking in again, you've just said you've got no idea who I am then slavered out the pearl of wisdom above.

I know exactly when it was so what your saying is wigan submitted a form to take Jordan on a scholarship at under 16s and Jordan turned it down to stay at wakefield.
WAKEFIELD FANS ARE BORN, NOT MANUFACTURED.WE DO NOT CHOOSE, WE ARE CHOSEN. THOSE WHO UNDERSTAND NEED NO EXPLANATION. THOSE WHO DONT, DONT MATTER.
