This is great stuff, engaging in the community is essential for the club as much as it is great for the kids/schools/amatuer clubs to have the players along either for presentatations or handing down knowledge/training.
Whilst it might be difficult to gauge how much this has increased (or not) compared to other years, making sure that the events are widely/better publicised so that people are more aware of what the club are doing as has being mentioned above has to increase the value of that effort from a public perception. Well done.
It's a shame we can;t back all of this work up with lots of free tickets. Hopefully we can improve our relations with the smc and start to look at things like that to grow the support base

It is surprising the number of kids who play the game and don't go to Hull or KR.
We took approx 500 players and parents to the derby game when Hull Wyke were the featured club of the week, I'd reckon half of them it would have been only game they've been to this year or their first ever game.
It's how to get them hooked and returning that's Hulls problem

I think on the radio interview the other week it was mentioned that dialogue has begun to improve with the new managing director of the SMC. I believe it was said that the SMC were now looking at ways to help us generate more income so it certainly sounds promising.

It's not always the kids we need to engage, it's the parents. It's also surprising how many kids play RL yet their parents simply aren't fans of either club. They're not going to go and spend a small fortune weekly just because little Johnny wants to go unfortunately.
I was lucky, my best friend's sister was married to Lee Crooks so I got taken with them, but I didn't start going properly until I was 18 and able to pay for myself because my parents simply weren't bothered.

That's a very good point, in my lads team only 6 or 7 are regulars at either Hull or Rovers, out of a squad of around 20.

I was very lucky that my Grandad took me, but when he lost his vision and couldn't take me I had about 6 years until I could attend on my own with friends at 14ish. Unfortunately for me, this period was from 88-94!!!

That was a pretty good time to be an FC fan...I still have bruised ribs from the Threepenny Stand barrier I was stood at when we won the Premiership Semi in 1991!!!
