Worked at the intercon from late 1970 till 72 when I met the wife, always went down into the moonraker for an hour to chill out before having the pleasure of meeting those charming and friendly people that frequented the place

You're thinking of George Lee's mill John Willy owd lad. Paton and Baldwins was on Denby Dale Road, I think, and Hayley's on Alverthorpe Road (now a housing estate).

I remember going into the gents in The Woolpack one night and there was a set of false teeth in the urinal. I went again half an hour later and they'd gone.

The thing with doc was you could have 3 or 4 and feel fine then walk outside into the fresh air and it was like someone took the bones out of your legs!
