Well going from 25 carries and 35 tackles per game, having to run back ten metres on every tackle and be constantly involved; to standing around with his hands on his hips/knees taking in about 4 carries and 6 tackles per game...only total lazy lovers wouldn't miss playing league.

For someone like Sam, rugby union must be a total dirge to be involved in and all these many players in that sport who've only known that they just don't realise what they're missing out on in RL.

And to be fighting against bitter people who want to see him fail is just ridiculous. Life's far too short to be around people who are against you and a rugby playing career is far far too short for that. So he's coming back to where he's loved in our sport and i don't blame him.

That's a fair point.Sam Burgess was far from the reason England failed in the WC. He did well against Fiji off the bench and was solid against Wales in a game they were leading when he was withdrawn late on and they really should have gotten at least a point which would have got them out the group phase. It's shocking really that from now on he will be probably seen as one of the major reasons England failed so massively at this WC when in truth, the team as a whole had far more shortcomings and were simply just not good enough.

Still think Sam would have been well suited to the Number 8 position.

Much as that disgusts me, I am quite happy for the RFU to continue to refuse to accept the blinding obvious if it means they will think twice about recruiting from RL & they continue to fail in major competitions.
