This week, with Tupou and Arona joining our pack, our options, offloading, footwork, lines and mobility have increased massively.

If these two hit any where near form they will release pressure on Kirmond and Ashurst and we may well see those two play their best rugby as a result.

We won't lack aggression and we'll test the best defences with our lines and footwork.

As it looks like the pomeroy rummer was in fact a rummer and the squad is pretty much completed i wouldnt be supprised to see kirmond spend some time in centres

Indeed, we’ve had quite a few & as the Sharkies are my NRL team it cheers me up.

Not bothered about Pomeroy though, but if they want Jack Bird to have a little sojourn from the rigours of the NRL I’d be up for that.

Regarding Arone, he never seems to get a lot of game time at Cronulla but I’m sure that’s about to change.

The off-season recruitment has been very good. We have to accept that we're not going to attract anyone at the top of their game. What we have always excelled at is getting players looking for the chance to shine, often an understudy. Moore, Amor, Kirmond, Tim Smith and many, many others came to Wakefield looking for a reboot of their career, and quite often it worked out that way.

Odd one this. You’d expect that Kirmond an ex-winger and wide running S/R would be very comfortable in the centres. Now I didn’t see his one effort in that position but I’m told it wasn’t great - that said perhaps he needs a few goes to get it right as he is fairly adaptable.

One from left field, could Anakin play at Centre? I’m aware he never has but if he’s adaptable and embraces it he’s not slow and he could punch holes on the flanks - also a good tackler - just a thought and probably not a good one.

Johnstone will be a centre eventually IMO but he’s to easily knocked about at the moment.
