Yes ,we seem to have an ever expanding back room . Do any of these jobs affect the salary cap or is that just for players ?

First team playing staff only I think.

I always had a bit of a soft spot for mathers.... he came to us with his confidence utterly destroyed.. We needed a FB badly.. the fans got behind him and he did a decent job for us... It was a decent signing for all concerned... great back slapper as well.

Been brought in to help Penny with his backslapping, refine that technique.

There's some talk of Paul Noone coming in for pre season training as the clapper of hands at scrums.

TBH though, Mathers would have been worth fetching back when Hodgson moved on & would have proved a better full back than recent occupants of that position.

Yep agree with this. Always remember his exuberance atop the open top bus after the CC victory. Seems like a decent bloke.

always remember him chasing back a ball during a game at the DW and the pillock managed to fall over himself and doing a forward roll, video is online for the laugh to be relived.

he did however also send us on our way to winning both CC's in 09 and 10, first with his try in the opening minute and then stopping a try down the other end early on when Bailey tried to run him over. those two moments alone made him a worthwhile buy!
