Is that our back row next year? It'll be the fastest back row we've had for a long time (compare to Westwood, Laithwaite, Harrison  ) and probably faster than most of our three quarter lines when Penny is out of favour (Monaghan, Bridge, Atkins, Williams  ).

If it is the back row, then it will be very odd not to see Ben Westwood there, although I really can see him coming off the bench with Dodds and making sure we do not lose too much when Hill and Sims are off.

Dodds will surely start for us.

I suspect that even if we do recruit another prop Ben W will be providing cover to the front row. Exciting times ahead.

Just my opinions unless it's a FACT, in which case it's a fact.

I must admit I'm getting a bit of a tingle.

Does the signing of Westerman, and his ability to act as a 3rd pivot, allow us to have a more running full back rather than the 'Brett Hodgson' full back we have used for the last few years?

I think this is the big thing Smith will be looking at.... Bringing Dodds AND Westwood on will give us some mongrel and drive when Hill and Simms go off.

Westwood has been a great servant... giving him less game time could well keep the fire going in him for another couple of seasons.... Coming off the bench could be the best thing for him at this stage of his career.

I've not addressed this in the westerman thread, but obvs westwood would make a short term solution to numbers.

Tbh after todays news i'm looking at the teams ppl have been prediciting and currie has been benched in a couple of them, is that the way to go? possibly, for development purposes, and not hoisting too much expectation on him.

What does this do for us in terms of playing style though? thats a very interesting question, do we go back to hodgo style? or do we try something else now, with the pieces that we now have? Try let Sandow have free reign?

The suggestions of Currie as a centre keep on coming too.

It's a little bit crazy, he doesn't play like a centre, just because he's got good hands, his assists have mainly come from good back row running angles.

He was playing at centre earlier this year and seemed like a fish out of water, when we were going through our really rough patch

Not for me... he needs to be playing every week from now on. That's how he will develop the best.

Clark
Simms
Currie
Hughes
