Surely Wire would only be involved if Saints and Cas turned it down also?

Depends if you go with "logic" and "earned" or whether you go with the original announcements. Only Leeds and Wigan have actually qualified on the qualification criteria. The 3rd team is then "RFLs choice". If the RFL chose not to offer it to St Helens, Castleford or Huddersfield and went straight for Warrington then that is their right. I would assume that the RFL would be factoring in the "business" side of the game when making such a decision.

Cant say that I would agree with it, cant say that Im not disappointed if it does come off :D

Mummy duck is now thoroughly depressed. SHE was the one that was famous for losing five in a row........until the 2011 GF!!!!!

Whether we play in it or not, if i was a leeds fan, i'd be a bit worried, playing the cowboys next year, with your now sinfield and peacockless team? jesus i dont fancy that.

I don't think we should be playing in it unless it means something - ie we are Super League champions competing in the real World Club Challenge. Other than that it's an unnecessary extra fixture that puts further pressure on the players' bodies. The weekend off would be preferable, ideally with Super League fixtures against teams playing in this series on the weekends before and after it.

Yes it's nothing more than an exhibition game. I'd prefer we focus on delivering a great season when it means something. If the club just want gate receipts then put on a music concert.

I don't think we would be ready for it with all the new players settling in and getting to know one another etc, we didn't seem to learn anything from our game so would prefer the team to prepare for the forthcoming season.

NRL Scoop on twitter just tweeted to say that it's Wigan Leeds and Warrington, fixtures to be announced after the GF.

rumour is that huddersfield don't have enough money........ after forking out a considerable sum for Danny Broughs off season forehead transplant.

I'd welcome it, enjoyed the game last year and it was certainly a success with over 15k on the ground - must have made us a bob or two, plus raised the profile a bit...?

The game is in the first few weeks of the season, don't think it will have a great impact on the players, might even allow us more time to gel?

Saints Hudds Cas and HKR have all apparently turned the chance down due to it being a financial loss maker.Wire finishing 6th were the next in line to be offered it

Never mind the bollox, bring on the rugby:

If I recall, we had to guarantee £160k to the RFL to pay for the Aussies travel costs and sundries so I can understand Hudds dropping out as their gate would probably not cover that figure. But I don't understand the logic of Saints dropping out for Wire ? It is a good opportunity to publicise the club and our gate money this year would certainly have covered the costs, plus we also made money from the shirts. As for the event, I really enjoyed the match this year and will certainly attend next providing the rumours are correct. It made a nice change to be in a full stadium, the atmosphere was great.
