I went in to Riley's on Thursday to watch Wigan-Hudds and they said they weren't showing it. Instead they had on Canada-France, a Liverpool game and a Celtic game. Utter crap.

Think this RU world cup as done good for RL, just highlighted how much better a game RL is! Watched eng v aus sat night! the NRL grand final sunday morning! The mind boggles how anyone can prefer RU. Someone even tried telling me, you had to be fitter to play RU!!!!! He got rapid F**K OFF in response. I was properly upset watching Sam Burgess sat night! don't think he touched the ball once! what a complete waste of an amazing rugby player, hope he's back next year, personally think he will be

There's a rumour he's going to Leeds. Could just be people putting the apparent room on Leeds' salary cap and Burgess' miserable World Cup together. I'd love to see him back in RL though (preferably not at Leeds), completely wasted in Union as you say.

You totally underestimate the power of the media and the fact that hardly anyone away from the heartlands of RL will have seen the Leeds Saints game or the NRL final. The media have rubbished Burgess and now blaming factions in the camp on Farell and Burgess, as opposed to poor selection policy, poor coaching and under performing "stars".

I must admit though that to compair the two codes is futile. Two entirely different games all be it same pitch and ball.
What the WC has done though is show that the old prejudices by Union lovers towards League is still very much alive and kicking despite the massive RL influence at this world cup.

The Australians play a brand of rugby that takes in so many RL skills. But the ignorance of the union biased media in this country totally fail to grasp that. I have often said I'd watch union more if the northern hemisphere teams played like the southern hemisphere teams. But northren teams especially England play such a dull brand of rugby where they aim for more drop goals and penalties than tries. The ironic thing is that they tried to change that with 3 minutes to go against Wales and the gamble backfired massively.

Burgess was rushed to be included imho. He will now sadly go back to Barrrth and learn his trade in the pack at number 6. If he comes back I can't see it being to a SL team.

Me neither, will be back at the Bunnies. Ha yeh I thought that in the Wales game, don't turn a penalty down for 77 mins then decide to when it could of at least drawn them the game !! Its a bad game, the whole team makes less than 100 tackles a game and the balls in play for an average of 39 Mins!!! 39 mins, couldn't believe it. Not sure the average time for RL, but id guess it been at least in the 60s

you cant blame Burgess.Selecting an out an out forward as a centre is ridiculous.
