I won't watch a game England will flatter to deceive as normal and Scotland will just get smashed as usual.....

Pity the RFL is run like a circus

I will be watching the England game down the boozer if it's on. Wigan vs saints whilst it will be a decent game is a tough watch for me but will probably get it on catch up when I stumble in. Not a union fan but I am an Englishman who wants see his country do well at all sports even tiddly winks.
Yes Union can be dire at times but World Cup in your own country with good TV times for the English games.

I'd like to put on record that I won't be watching a single second. When will the country wake up to how utterly sh*t it is?

Only if I fancy 40 winks. Can't stand the voice of the bloke who does the over dramatic summary of RU highlights in the sports personality. Probably a really nice fella but tries to make RU sound like some form of fine art mixed with the most defining moment in British history since D Day. Give me Ray Warren or Phil gould in the build up to an Origin match any day.

I saw the thread title, and thought, let's play RU Bingo.
I wasn't disappointed to see the mentions of:-
posh boys,
chinless,
public school.

Chiponshoulderinglystereotypetastic. Some of you lot want to watch you don't spill your pint of bitter, as you trip over your whippet, and stub out your Woodbine

I shan't be giving the 3 point cup, an iota of my time.
I've no interest in how Sam Burgess measures up. He's made his bed. Let him lay in it. Like wise any other ex RL player (Edwards, Ford, Farrell, Williams)
I've no interest in a sport where the crowd has more ball touches than the 3/4 line.
The 3 point code (6 Nations or World Cup) is the equivalent of Wimbledon. Media companies force their viewing/reading public into liking it, for the few weeks it's on. Even that professional gobpooh Chris Evans is boring the nation about it. Ask Joe Public who's top of the Guinness Premiership in December, and your average housewife from Tunbridge Wells wont have a clue. Yet she'll be watching the game tonight. It's the same with tennis. For a fortnight, we're force fed with Wimbledon (the Beeb has just signed up for another 5 years :WALL: ) and the nation is "gripped". Again, ask Joe Public did they watch the Cincinnati Masters, and they'll look at you as if you've come from another planet.

People in this country are TOLD what to like, so they like it. I mean, COME ON. One of the most popular programmes currently on our screens, is The Great British Bake Off. SERIOUSLY. Millions of people are giving up an hour of their lives, every week, to watch some people make a Victoria ####ing Sponge. GET A GRIP, BRITAIN.

So, it'll be waxing my pet budgie, Tomkins' feathers
counting the grains of sand in an egg timer
filing my tax returns
ordering my audio collection from loud (Zeppelin) to easy listening (Bacharach)
painting the tiles in the bathroom
speaking to Mrs Goldblatt
for the next 6 weeks, then.

I still wont watch reality TV, though. Kick'n'clap is still preferable to that 5h1te.

Neither glass half full or empty. Just a realist.

I will be watching it if it suits and by that I mean I won't be organising my life around it. I don't mind international RU I've been a few times on corporate jollies and it's a real event. It's club rugby that is overhyped IMO, that really is dull.

Sorry for not towing the party line (and what's more I even had a season ticket at a local 'wendyball' team for many years and still follow it), but, RL and RU are different games. I happen to like RL and think it is the best form of Rugby, anyone complaining about the amount of coverage in the Daily Mail and the establishment media generally, needs to get a grip it was always going to be thus.

Superbly put, Rico

The public in this country get horrified over nowt.
If it wasn't popular, no one would read/watch it. If the man in the street wants a yearly fix of a boring sport, let him have it. I don't buy a paper, so that's sorted for me. I simply won't be watching ITV (not that I do anyway) for the next 6 weeks, and any mention of it in news bulletins, will be greeted in me channel hopping.

It's that easy, people.

I understand how easy it is to circumvent the wall to wall RU media coverage. It still doesn't make the gross disparity any easier to swallow, especially from supposed public funded organisations.

I'm not planning to, but I'd rather watch every second of the entire tournament than read anything the Daily Mail has to say about anything.
