Shame General Zod can't be called out on his rather definitive condemnations of Tom's ability as a winger:
"He could fill a some kind of niche role as some type of second-rower or loose-forward in years to come but that would need a coach of the ilk as Justin Morgan who would have the vision to create that type of niche role for him - similar to the way JM turned Lovegrove into a forward. I just think if he's left as a three-quarter, he'll end up along the lines of Yeaman. He's simply not fast or agile enough to be a top class winger.
He was at fault for slow and laboured kick returns which invited pressure. As soon he he was removed, the problem was eradicated as the scoreboard proved.
It can't have been nice for the kid to be in a game he could have little effect on due to his lack of athletic ability.
I didn't take pleasure in seeing Tom Briscoe fail."
Not too shabby an effort by him yesterday to win the Lance Todd in record-breaking fashion considering these limitations.
