I've seen a few mentions of 2016 in recent threads and what would constitute failure or success for the club in Superleague.
So, for us as fans, what would we have to achieve to be a success, what would be deemed a failure and what would be just about punching our weight? Some of us will be more conservative, some realistic, some will only see a GF win as success maybe.
This is how I see 2016;
Failure: Not making the top8, or making the top8 like this year and being too far adrift of top4.
Punching our weight: I think 'on paper' we have a squad in the top6 of SL. 4th-6th after the regular rounds I think would be a fair expectation, and be in a position to be battling it out for a top4 place.
Success: Finishing in the top4 (& whatever could happen in the playoffs).

making the super 8's is not a successful season in my eyes, although not making the super 8's would've been a failure.
but making the upper 8's and being so far behind the leading pack is not good. I think the club radders and pearson goal was to make the super 8's and see how you go from there. which is what has happened, only problem being, we gave ourselves to much to do to make top 4 for the play offs. so for the 2 named above, I think they will see it as a successful season. and look to go one better next season.
my thoughts, making super 8's was a bare minimum, but not a successful season. its been hard to watch this season, almost like a chore. I still feel with a coach who can get the very best out of the players, we could've been pushing for a top 4 spot, then when play offs start, its anyones game.

Offy's Final Thought - Failure
It was next year I was looking towards tbh.

With our squad we should be in the top 6 at the end of the regular season next year (and in touch with the top 4) and anything less would be unacceptable IMO.
I think Leeds, Wigan and Saints will be the top three leaving Warrington, Huddersfield, Castleford and us fighting it out for 4th to 6th. As to where we will finish I think that depends on whether Castleford will continue to punch above their weight and whether Warrington are in some sort of decline or will bounce back from what looks like a disappointing end to this season.
A decent cup run would be good too.
Irrespective of where we finish what I would really like to see is some enterprising, exciting and entertaining rugby which is a pleasure to watch rather than a chore.
First there was wisdom Then there was knowledge Now there is only information

Definitely.
I was more after fans ideas regarding what would be a success or failure for the 2016 side in their eyes, rather than predictions, if that makes sense. Just to get a perspective of where we feel we should be.

I'd like to see us hit the ground running next year, use pre season effectively for once so that Radders knows his starting lineup before round 1 and we're not constantly tinkering and not building any consistency which then leaves us playing catchup for the rest of the season trying to catch the breakaway pack at the top of the league.
I'd consider a success to be a return to attacking rugby...drawing the fans back in, a cohesive team that has structure and composure to it, effective game management and reducing panic in the opposition's 20.
We should be aiming for at least 6th, but give it a real go to make the top 4...anything less and it will be another failure of a season and we'll be in the same position next year looking to 2017 with the "best squad yet" and "excellent recruitment" only for another season of disappointment!
