Bore off, fans have said we'd give it a good go, you think we are going to say the players can't be arsed we'll get battered by X points I think ONE poster predicted a win last night, the fact we basically handed at least two tries to you on a plate and you essentially beat us by that difference says for the most part we held our own. Well done on a great season, hope you get battered by the red & white poop next week, now mickey off back to your own board

Have you finished having your hissy fit? Your behaviour is not setting a good example to the rest of Hull FC's Letchworth supporters club.
And last but not least, to all those people who wrote this team off. To all those people who critisized this team...tonight's for you.

Poor errors but at the kick off that led to the try Hall was miles offside. As for Briscoe's try at 22 - 24 I think he was confused about which team he played for as he was so far offside he was virtually stood in our attacking line!

You might want to check the highlights, pause at the point the ball is played for briscoes try and his feet are on his own try line.
The highlights don't show Hall in the shot on the ko but would be surprised if he was 'miles' offside in that situation and is actually behind the other chasers when he comes into shot.

You are one of the biggest pessimists on this board, but, unfortunately, on this one I agree. The club's mentality is ingrained through Dannys endeavours. We'll struggle to step up with him as our 9.

In many ways last night was a microcosm of our entire season, and indeed of the club's position at this moment in time. Enthusiastic with good workrate, flashes of attacking invention but too often let down by basic errors at crucial moments which ultimately cost us dearly. The errors leading to Hall & Briscoe's tries proved to be the difference in the end, both times we looked as if we were about to take control of the game only to hand it straight back to Leeds on a plate.
Last night showed why we are a 7th/8th placed team and not one aiming for the big prizes. We can play well in short bursts but we simply are not consistent enough to really challenge, but then we knew that already, didn't we!
At least we've shown some desire and commitment to the Super 8's so far. After the Wigan game I think we were worried that the team would simply put their feet up for the remaining games, but they have competed in all three games so far.
After we'd qualified for the top 8's I posted that all I wanted to see was a decent level of energy and commitment to the competition with hopefully some expansive Rugby along the way to entertain us a little bit. I would say that so far the players have fulfilled that criteria. We were never going make the top 4, that was always a given, but we at least look as if we still care, and we have scored some of our best tries of the season in recent weeks.
Realistically, this is the best we can hope for right now. We are what we are, a fair to middling half decent reasonable side who occasionally punch above our weight. In 2015 that is what we are, no more no less.
I've been on the internet and have already got a sense of the fans' passion for the club. They are very fanatical - Peter Gentle 12th September 2011.

Great summary. Question is whether we'll be stronger next year - I would hope we will be via both solid recruitment and valuable experience for our U19s at SL level. If so, can we move up from 7-8 to push up to 5-6 against Huddersfield, Wire, Cas?

Would hope so, but you, me and everyone else on this board have been saying this for the last five years and still we wait for the big breakthrough.
My post above, along with your reply, could have been placed on this board at anytime since 2010! and we are still no nearer to achieving our goals.
Still, I guess the recent years of frustration won't stop any of us hoping/believing/praying/arguing/fighting/cursing until we finally get it right! I agree with you that 2016 looks promising, but we've been at this point too many times in this decade to ever get fully carried away .

I don't think wondering whether improving our league position by 1-2 is getting carried away. I do feel more optimism than this point last year when we finished 11th but like the vast majority of supporters of all teams hope is rarely backed up. My main concern is getting re-energised by more expansive play in the current dead rubbers only to go back to extreme conservatism when there are meaningful points at stake next year.
