One of the things that have made Kev so great is his discipline, both on and off the field. We've never heard stories of him being out and carrying on, instead we hear about the amount of practice he's put into improving his game. I really hope that this brushes off on our younger players and they understand what it takes to become a true legend. For this reason it's great that he'll still be around the club, and that JJB is still there next year. He's cut from the same cloth

McGuire should be Sinfield's replacement as the experienced man in the halves and Sutcliffe should be what McGuire was in years gone by.

Whether McGuire is up to that is another question. When the two played together as a partnership at the start of the year however it looked fairly promising.

Promising yes but we need more than promising. McGuire has had an excellent season but without a replacement for Sinny's we do not had a proven game manager or goal kicker and that could be the difference in our success next year

Kicked off the 2nd half of the 2011 GF and BJB misses it and next thing you know we've barely touched the ball for 20 minutes and are 8-2 lead has turned into a 8-16 deficit that all started with that kick off.

That was a brilliant passage of play.

Worry not...Thurston (or Cameron Smith - Aussie) will be announced just before sale of season tickets :D

Danny McGuire ...for all this qualities and Indian Summer performances .... is not of that 'same cloth'. It's not a criticism of him. He just doesn't possess lead by example qualities. Burrow is better in that commanding universal, widespread respect.

Sinfield and Peacock and JJB are a core epitome of supreme professionalism/team ethos at its best - perhaps never to be repeated for generations to come.

I don't think we need more than 'promising', mainly because the alternative wouldn't be Thurston or DCE but some journeyman NRL hack who would presumably want a multi-year contract and therefore block the chances of Sutcliffe or anyone else for a couple of years.

The simple reality is you can't replace Sinfield or Peacock, as much for their will to win and off-field attitude as anything else. What you need to do is accept they're gone and make changes around their departure. I'm quite happy with the prop rotation for next year, and also for Sutcliffe to get a year to show what he can do. I'm also well aware that winning anything next year will be really tough - but again it would be even if we sign a ready-made stand off.

You mean like Dunneman? And would things have gone aswell without his contribution?

As I said we have replaced JP's workload with three very good props who will replace his high tackle count, go forward and offloads between them. All this could be wasted without a game manager and goal kicker to win us the tight games. This need not be a Thurston as such a signing may not be available however we have to accept that to go with Sutcliffe will be a gamble.

How has Sam Williams gone this year? Was really impressed with his game management in his short spell in SL.
