Ruck speed: We need to add something in the hooker department to mix it up a bit instead of playing Houghton 80 minutes every week. Azza was the perfect interchange hooker for me. If we can find someone with similar qualities (or play Shaul there as the article suggests) we'll do well. However, based on this season I can see any hooker brought in struggling to get in the team as Radders seems to prefer playing Danny for 80 minutes every game.
Quality centre: Definitely agree that we need a specialised centre instead of utility men. Looking forward to seeing Tuimavave in action but it does worry me that centre is not his preferred position yet we plan to play him there.
Interchange grit: Agree that we lose something when Watts and Paea are off the pitch. I do like Bowden and Green but I don't think they have the same impact as these two. Ellis in at prop would add this grit I think and if we retain Feka another year that would help too.
Addressing the cancer: Our support play (or lack of it), composure and game management certainly need improving if FC as a club want to actually improve and challenge higher up the table. I would also suggest the Jekyll and Hyde nature of our game is still in need of addressing. We sometimes go from one game to the next looking like a completely different team. Was the team that beat Rovers the same team Wigan annihilated a week later?
And the article is right when it suggests the blame must be spread around and not just laid at one person's door.
A good post Doc...
The worrying part is not just a backup hooker for Houghton, as far as I know, we havent a hooker in the U19's either.
The Tuimavave signing, is a bit puzzling, as he plays predominantly at 6,according to some sources ,he has problems defensively.
The mentality/attitude could stem from the coaching team, in my opinion, maybe the coaching team are too pally with the players??, for mine, we need new blood in the coaching team, but it wont happen - IMO.
Richard Swain alluded to the fact, that in his opinion, too many players at Hull, think 'they've made it',when they sign for us, when in his opinion, they should be aiming for international honours.
