In an ideal world there'd be an in between level, but there isn't and we have to play the cards we're dealt. Logan, Lancaster & Turgut will not progress being kept in the 19's next year (Turgut's too old anyway). Got no confidence in our dual reg with Doncaster and I doubt a Leigh/Fax/Fev/Bradford would want to take our loan players.
don't think we have a dual reg with Doncaster at the moment. We havnt had a player there for three or four weeks
I'm fed up of hearing the "blocking young players" argument when someone who isn't a bona fide superstar is signed. The truth is that if they can't dislodge a supposedly mediocre player then perhaps they aren't going to be that great themselves. As has been pointed out injuries will almost certainly happen and opportunities arise for the replacements then. The younger player has a selection advantage in that first he's likely to be cheaper and secondly he's got potentially got more playing time in him so as long as he's approximately as good as his older, average, rival then he'll be the one getting the contract renewal.
Genuine young talent doesn't get stopped - it didn't stop Schofield and Crooks getting into a very strong Hull side, it didn't stop Briscoe and (unfortunately) it hasn't kept Burgess out the Wigan team.
Anyway welcome Carlos - I'm prepared to see how he goes first in a Hull shirt.

But, but, but, he's stopping the kids. You're right, it's a pathetic position several fellow posters ridiculously trot out on a regular basis.

And i'm sick of us signing mediocre players and giving them a chance before our young lads.
Are you not glad we gave Lineham a chance instead of signing Youngquest? Playing Shaul instead of re-signing McDonnell?
Overseas signings should ONLY be made if they're genuinely able to make a difference, not utility players that have only played 13 top flight games in 4 years.

And unlike yourself, I wasn't "wanking" over a player I had very little knowledge of. I didn't make up ridiculous lies about attending 3rd grade Sydney RU matches to try and back up my tenuous claims. Claims that were so stupid you mysteriously disappeared throughout Talanoa's entire spell of good form!
Roopy think's Carlos is too good for us to hold on to for 3 seasons, and I doubt there's anyone on the site that would take your view over the guy that watches him every week!
And regarding blocking younger players, if you think we have a centre anywhere near ready enough - you're either wilfully delusional, or a halfwit!
3 offers? He was begging for a NRL contract before he went missing.
Crossing a road to watch a game and having a child as the same time Talamoa fell over the line a few times are a massive stretch of anyone's imagination it's true. I'm glad we kept him and cashed in on Lineham.
Roopy has the same opinion of SL that you do of the KC. But it is fascinating to find out which school players went to and who their u13's coaches were. I'm particularly looking forward to see how "world class" coach Stone can love his young half backs careers up. If he can't get in a truely awful Knights side who played players in there wrong position rather than play him why is he good enough for a overseas spot with us?

Not really, not one poster who doesn't rate the signing will boo him for no reason and everyone will want him to succeed.
If no one discussed new signings the forum would be like Widnes' mid week.
