Can't this thread just be about the games? There's a thread for the merged academy already on the board. Does it really matter where Wigan's academy is to us?

Ahah didn't know that was round there so I apologize for not knowing and our set up is rather good thank you, tied into one of the leading colleges in Bishop Burton and doing rather well thanks.

Thats why you got the Bullet Agar...Adam Pearson wants winners...not useless gits like you.

It is not a patch on Wigan's place but still very good.
Perhaps with the savings made during the merger they can upgrade to the same level?

Who is we?
I have feck all to do with Wigan, I just happen to know how good the place is compared to Bishop Burton having visited and being shown around both.
You would not expect a lower mid table side to have the same academy set up as a champion team but Hull FC are not far off and that is down to Adam Pearson, Lee Radford and their staff.
As I said on another thread I do not recognise anything the RFL say, in this case their points scoring. They cannot organise themselves so I have no interest in how many points they have given one side over another.
An academy should be evalulated, in my opinion, by the number of players it has produced that are now playing in Super League or the Championships, not how many of it's kids handed in their homework on time (which is officially part of the criteria albeit worded a little differently).

The most polite people I have ever met from Receptionist to Players. And the reason for this? Wane insists that every person at the club is polite and makes an effort to say hello and offer to help any person the come into contact with. It is not unusual to see a player helping a cleaner do her job. He is massive on creating exceptional human beings, not just Rugby Players.
They also ensure that the dressing room is exactly how they found it, home or away, and that job belongs to the 18th man however they rarely do it alone and often the whole squad chip in and make sure it is spotless when they leave.
Ring them, they will happily let you look around CP and see for yourself.
Unfortunately I don't have the time or inclination. Good to hear though and I'm sure if they continue to do it one day it will filter through to the playing side
Is someone taking the Paea, a week after using the lack of young kids playing rugby we have a story about how well the club are doing encouraging kids to play the game. "over 3700 young people engaging in Rugby League activity in schools across Hull and the East Riding"
