This is the often stated criticism of those who support their team through thick and thin. I don't believe anyone, on this forum, or in the real world accepts mediocrity.
What they are doing is supporting their team.
Sport, of all kinds, is full of examples of of teams who have achieved great things and then plunged to depths. Some remain at the bottom, some rise back to the top.
The one thing they all have in common is a fan base that will stay through thick and thin.
It doesn't make those supporters any better, or worse, than those who come and go whenever good times are around. What it does do, is make them more loyal than those who are only there for the good times.
It's their choice, and long may they be able to make it. Just like it's your choice to have a whine and a moan.
