Bench was poor. Thompson forms dropped right off. Whiting gives the worst pens u could ever give away at the very worst times. Green is ok some games but useless others. Feka a luxury & effective in many games but not in a tight 1 like that
Agree 100%. By saying how we lost because we blew chances is papering over the fact that it was suicidal to have for 25 mins (?) a middle unit of Green, Thompson and Feka, plus complemented by having Ellis off at the same time. If Catalan hadn't themselves blown a gilt-edged chance just after half time there would have been little chance for our run-on pack to salvage things.
I wouldn't want to put my house on Green or Thompson making a crucial one-on-one tackle if need be.
Love Feka as a person/player but he is so immobile in defence it is uncomfortable to watch at times.
As you say Whiting is an expert at giving away pens on the 4th or 5th tackles, which is strange for a "smart" player.
TBF to Radford he is having to learn on the job and he will have learnt a lot last night. It's a shame as I personally think he has generally the right idea in trying to shake the club out of mediocrity.
