To be fair, only twice has Howarth played hooker ahead of Cunningham, and the reverse has actually happened 3 times. As much as people would like to see Cunningham get more game time, I don't think it's accurate to suggest it's been down to Howarth that he hasn't.

Facts are that both have played 6 games for us this season, and 3 of those are games in which both played. Of the 3 games in which Howarth played and Cunningham didn't, one was against Salford where he played loose forward, and another was the Sheffield cup game. I'm really not seeing Howarth as the reason Cunningham isn't getting game time.

He won't have been playing for free. Seems far more likely to me that steal refers to his wage level.
